AWARE Scotland

We’re proud to support AWARE Scotland, a Glasgow charity creating inclusive experiences that build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging for young people.
Written by Pantera

At Pantera, we believe businesses should play an active role in supporting the communities around them.

That’s why we’re proud to support AWARE Scotland, a Glasgow-based charity doing brilliant work with disabled and disadvantaged young people.

Who Are AWARE Scotland?

AWARE (Active Wellbeing and Respite Experiences) Scotland exists to give young people a safe, inclusive space where they can have fun, build friendships, and be themselves.

They support young people who often face barriers to social opportunities, including those with additional support needs, disabilities, and challenging personal circumstances.

What makes AWARE Scotland special is the consistency and sense of belonging they create. Young people attend regular sessions, build routines, and form friendships that last far beyond the activities themselves.

What Do They Do?

AWARE Scotland delivers a full programme of support throughout the year, including:

  • Weekly classes such as yoga, football, and art & drama
  • Monthly hangouts and day trips across Glasgow and beyond
  • Residential respite trips, including adventure breaks in Aviemore and trips to London
  • One-off experiences like sailing days, tournaments, and celebration events

On average, AWARE provides around two days of support every week, regularly supporting around 90 young people, alongside a brilliant and committed volunteer community.

Why It Matters

For many young people and families, AWARE Scotland offers experiences they might not otherwise access – from social connection and confidence-building to overnight trips and shared celebrations.

The charity provides vital respite for families and carers, while young people gain independence, lasting friendships, and a genuine community around them.
